Our Staff and Leadership

Pastor Thomas Kneser Kneser has served Woodlawn Lutheran church since 1990. He works with the Elders and Stewardship Committees. His duties include administration, preaching, teaching, hospital and shut-in visitation.

Pastor Benjamin Wessel has served Woodlawn Lutheran Church since 2002. He works with the Evangelism and Youth Ministries Committees, Endowment Committee, and Lamb of God School Board. His duties include preaching, teaching, supervising early field training of seminary students, hospital and shut-in visitation.


Jay Schwall School Principal, graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1975. He was assigned to teach grades 5&6 at Woodlawn Lutheran School in West Allis, WI. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he served as athletic director, coach, Sunday School director and Teen Group organizer. In 1983, Mr. Schwall took over the responsibilities of serving as Principal. Since the merger of Jordan and Woodlawn, Mr. Schwall has taught various subject in grades 5-8, in addition to serving as principal. Mr. Schwall is married and has six children.


Mary Gasper, Church/School Secretary, has served as our Lamb of God School secretary since 2001. Starting in 2006 she also became our church secretary. Her duties include administrative duties for our database and communion records, newsletter and bulletin editor. Contact Mary with address, telephone changes and newsletter announcements.

Nancy Perez, Organist, has been a member of Woodlawn since 2000 and has accompanied the choir since 2001.  She is married to Victor and studies classical piano at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music as a continuing student.  Nancy also teaches piano out of her home.

Sharon Klinger, Senior Choir Director – The Woodlawn Choir meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. (in church) September through May and is open to all members 7th grade and up.


Handbell Choir “Ring Praise” – This choir uses English handbells to beautify worship. No experience is necessary, though the ability to read music is helpful. Practices are on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm (in church). The choir plays about six times a year, plus a few special occasions.


Lynette Blievernicht, Contemporary Choir Director, This choir leads the congregation in worship 6 to 8 times per year. They focus primarily on Christian contemporary music. Practices are usually scheduled on Saturday afternoons or Monday evenings. Contact Lynette at 414-321-8780 ext 120.
