September 2 - LADIES AID – Mark Your calendar for First Thursday of ea month. meeting of this season will be Thursday, September 2, at 12:00 Noon. Each meeting consists of a short Bible study along with coffee and refreshments. A brief business meeting follows. Women of any age are welcome.

September 9 - MEN’S CLUB – Mark you calendar for the Second Thursday of ea month 12:30pm - l 3:00pm . Each meeting starts with a devotion with one of our pastors, followed by a short business meeting, refreshments, dartball and a brief voluntary presentation by one member each month regarding his previous work or leisure time activity. All ages are welcome – you don’t have to be retired. If your schedule permits, please come and join us in this fellowship opportunity.

September 9 and 13 - WLHS CHILDREN’S CHOIR - Wisconsin Lutheran High School announces auditions for the 2010-2011 season of the Wisconsin Lutheran Children’s Choir. The choir is open to all children in grades 4-8 with unchanged voices. Auditions for placement purposes will be held on September 9 and 13 from 6:00-8:00pm and on September 11 from 9:00-12:00 noon at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:15-7:30pm in the WLHS Auditorium beginning September 21. September 12 - WOODLAWN BOWLING - Calling all bowlers!!! It’s time to start another year of the Woodlawn mixed couples bowling league. It’s open to anyone, single or married, 18 years or older. We bowl every other Sunday evening at 4:30pm at Riviera Lanes, 85th and Greenfield. The season starts September 12 and will conclude in early April. We’re always looking for new people to join in the fun and fellowship. Cost is $11 per person, per night of bowling. We will hold an organizing meeting at Riviera THIS SUNDAY at 4:30pm, followed by FREE bowling for all participants. Anyone interested in bowling this year is asked to sign the sheet on the bulletin board in the entryway, even if you bowled last year. September 12 - WOODLAWN BIBLE HOUR - This is the time when the whole family has the opportunity to gather around God’s Word and learn more about the wonderful things God does for us. “Bible Hour” includes our new Adult Bible Study, Families Rooted in Grace; a new year of R.E.A.L. (Relevant Everyday Active Life) teen Bible study for confirmed high school teens, Confirmed in the Faith ca-techism instruction, and Sunday School for children ages 3 through 5th grade. Plan on joining us each Sunday!

September 12 - WLHS ANNIVERSARIES & INSTALLATIONS - The Wisconsin Lutheran High School Conference is pleased to announce a special service of praise and thanksgiving for the anniversaries of three of our faculty members and the installation of our two new teachers and our new business manager. This service will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday, September 12, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 1209 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee. The anniversary celebrants are Mr. Robert Lehninger – 40 yrs., Mr. Joel Mattek – 25 yrs., and Mr. Blair Schaper – 25 years. To be installed are Mr. Randel Fink (Business Manager), Mr. Joshua Metzger (Director of Extended Learning Center) and Rev. Aaron Robinson (Religon).

September 13 - SHOW CHRISTIAN LOVE TO IMMIGRANTS – BE AN ENGLISH CONVERSATION PARTNER Do you want to meet some interesting people from another culture? Then here is the perfect opportunity for you! Volunteer to tutor adults in English at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 2827 W. Harrison. The next module begins MONDAY, September 13 and ends on THURSDAY, November 18. Classes meet Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 6:00 to 8:00pm. You sign up for the dates that fit your schedule.
     Requirements: the desire to learn about people from other cultures, patience and empathy, standard English, the ability to follow instructions, the responsibility to show up on the days you signed up for or CALL us if you have an emergency. September 14 - LUTHERAN PIONEERS - Sign up to be part of Lutheran Pioneers on Tuesday, September 14, from 6:00-6:30pm in the gym lobby at Lamb of God School (during the PTO Potluck). We’re looking forward to another year of fun activity and learning. ATTENTION: We would love to have adults who are willing and eager to help out, either to help lead a boys or girls group for the year or just for one night! 
     Do you have a skill that you would be willing to share with the Pioneers? Do you have a hobby that you love talking about? Have you had an experience or a job that you would like to talk about? Why not spend ½ hour or an hour with our Pioneer group? To volunteer or for more information, contact Ken Hausch at (414) 453-4655. Lutheran Pioneers is for all children from preschool through 8th grade, members and non-members.

September 19. - 50th ANNIVERSARY - Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church will be celebrating their 50th year on September 19. The celebration will include 8:00am and 10:30am worship services at Menomonee Falls (N84 W15252 Menomonee Avenue); a 9:15am worship service at Germantown ( N108 W14290 Bel Aire Lane); and a 12:00Noon luncheon at Menomonee Falls. Historical pictures will be on display. We will be honoring our called workers, past and present, in a short presentation. October 16th - A QUILTING AFFAIR - The WLHS quilting auction, “A Quilting Affair”, will be held on Saturday, October 16th at the high school. Proceeds will be used to purchase new sewing machines for the WLHS fashion techniques classes. We welcome your donations of quilted wall hangings, lap robes, baby (and all size) quilts, purses, totes, table runners, etc. Donor forms and more information may be found at www.wlhs.org, click on “News from Wisco” under News & Events, or contact Yvonne Quint at 414-453-4567 Ext. 2012.
