Our School -- Lamb of God

Lamb of God Evangelical Lutheran School is a merged school of Jordan and Woodlawn Evangelical Lutheran Churches (WELS). While our joint school has been in existence only a short time, both congregations have a long history of supporting Christian Education.

Lamb of God offers a Christ-centered education for students who are pre-school age through eighth grade.  In addition to its solid Christian education, there are also many extra opportunities for growth, including:

  • Band
  • Piano Lessons
  • Academic competitions
  • Computer Lab
  • Extended Learning Program

Lamb of God currently has three-year-old preschool program, 5 year-old kindergarten program and then grades Kindergarten through 8.  In addition to these programs, a child care program is also available.

“The Christian view of wealth and possessions,” and “What children eat and drink impacts their brain WELS Podcasts for parents are available for download or listening online at Parents Cross Link . Also available at that site are 3-minute devotions for families. Check it out!

PURPOSE AND GOALS
We believe that the prime responsibility for raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord rests within the Christian family (Deuteronomy 6). However, our congregations also recognize a responsibility for Christian education as commanded by Christ, when He said, "Therefore go and teach all nations," and "Feed My lambs.

LAMB OF GOD SCHOOL 2009 - 2010 - LAMB OF GOD – YEAR IN REVIEW
We began our 9th year as Lamb of God Lutheran School with 63 students enrolled.  With additions and subtractions throughout the year, we finished with 60 students.  If you know of any family that might be interested in a Christian education for their children, please have them contact us or give us their information and we will contact them.

The three biggest events were the Opening service in August, the Christmas service in December, and the Graduation service in May. These events highlight the purpose of our school and the privilege that we have in offering God’s Word to His precious lambs.

Other significant events were the Harvest Fair held in October, the Lamb of God Open House in February which went very well producing new members for our school for the fall, the Lamb of God Grand Slam Family Fun Fest held in March, which included a visit from a Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club World Famous racing sausage. Ryan Maki of the Milwaukee Admirals came in the spring to read to our younger students.

Another highlight was the academic successes of our former graduates. Several made the honor roll more than once at WISCO and one was chosen as a Brady Corporation Academic All-Star. Our students also did very well in the National Geographic Bee, WISCO Math Track Meet, and local Spelling Bees.

Our students also participated in sporting events competing with other Lutheran grade schools in our area.  They won basketball tournaments and did well in both track meets and cross country.

This summer we will be participating in the West Allis Independence Day Parade on Friday, July 2, 2010.

Send e-mail to Principal Schwall with questions about our school.
